What is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and why does it matter for your dancewear?

You've probably seen the "OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100" label on some garment more than once...
But do you really know what it means?
Today we'll explain it to you clearly and simply, because it does matter (a lot), especially if you dance.

Let's start with the basics: what is this certification?

The OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is an international certification that guarantees that fabrics have been rigorously tested to ensure they do not contain substances harmful to your health.

In other words:
If a fabric has this label, it's because it has passed one of the world's most stringent controls regarding safety and chemical toxicity.

What things does it analyze?

More than 100 potentially hazardous substances, such as pesticides, heavy metals, phthalates (present in some plastics), formaldehyde, or irritating or allergenic dyes.

And most importantly:
They analyze not only the fabric , but all the elements of the garment: threads, zippers, labels, seams... everything.

Why is this so important in clothing like Rittmo's?
